Paris, Part One.

Paris is stunning. Truly. I was absolutely shell-shocked at how beautiful it is. My father warned me that some bits were horrid, but it really did not affect how I feel about it. It is seriously one of the best places I have ever visited (although, admittedly, I don’t get out much).

The first thing I noticed when driving in was the amount of graffiti there was. Now, some might be all like “Screw those bloody scumbags! They ruin the pristine cities of our world!” but, let me just say, some of the stuff was wonderful. I saw this one particular piece of a woman blowing a dandelion clock in soft pink and blue tones as we stopped at a set of traffic lights, and I just thought, “Why can’t I have this in England?” I love it.

I mean, I can totally see why so many artists flock to Paris. Every single building is photogenic, every scene is thought-provoking, every street has a statue or something to rile up a person’s creativity. This is why I want to live somewhere wonderful.

However, there was a little trouble with pickpockets at times and lucky lucky men trying to sell us plastic Eiffel Towers (sometimes rather aggressively), but fortunately, I didn’t lose my money or, more importantly, my camera. Also, if you do go, be careful of people asking you to sign petitions (we came across some asking us to sign for something to do with deaf and blind people). They WILL pickpocket you.

Anyway, on a lighter note, activities-wise, I went up the Montparnasse Tower, then for a walk through Paris, from the Place du Trocadero to the Eiffel Tower, ate lunch on the bank of the Seine before going on a boat ride down the river, which was great. I went in the Louvre (I was a little gobsmacked, honestly), down the Champs-Elysees and to Notre Dame. Everything was awesome. Like, awe-inspiring. Awesome.

I’ll split the pictures taken randomly between the two parts, because I feel that 61 is just too many for one post.

I can’t sing its praises enough. I know it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for me personally, even with its rough places, it was perfect. Je l’adore.

Have a great day.

  1. I lived there 15 years…. That’s the worst place to live ever!! Apartment are crazy small and expensive, pollution is huge, noisy ask the time, people always complaining and it’s not a safe place.
For tourism it’s ok but I prefer by far Prague, Rome, Vienne πŸ™‚

    1. Hey, I didn’t stay there for too long, so I don’t know the half of it, and I’ve been to Vienna and I agree, it is fabulous. Rome is top on my list of places to visit but I’ve never thought about Prague. Thanks for your comment, by the way ^.^
